Cheyenne East High School Pool Addition

The design of Cheyenne East High School’s new competition pool was completed in 2022 and was designed to serve as Laramie County School District #1’s District-wide competition pool.  A state-of-the art natatorium provides an abundance of natural light in the space and includes (10) 25 yard competition lanes that can be lengthened when needed through the use of a moveable bulkhead, and a warmup and practice pool area that doubles as a diving well during meets.  The facility also houses (2) new 1-meter and (2) 3-meter springboards for competition diving, coaches offices, ticketing and concessions. A complex site served as a challenge initially to the design team but was overcome with the design of the spectator entrance at the top of the bleacher area overlooking the pool area below. The new addition offers a larger pool facility overall for East High School as well as wider competition lanes and safety compliant diving areas with flexibility as different practice and competition needs change.  Increased spectator seating and enhanced locker rooms add to the benefits the addition has provided to both students and the community.
