University of Wyoming ITC
Construction of the new 80,000 SF Information Technology Center houses UW's division of Information Technology including the IT help desk, a walk-in service center, 110 Offices, Makerspace, a high-tech computing lab as well as spaces that serve as a gathering and studying for students. Four departments of the University’s Information Technology Division call this building home and include Academic Computing Labs, Central Computer Facilities, Telephone, and Data Communication Services Centers as well as the Vice President’s office and related functions.
One of the primary objectives of the design for the new facility is to support and adapt to ongoing technological change. The building provides a highly reliable environment for housing technology systems and equipment—an infrastructure designed for minimal downtime, whether planned or unplanned. High security including biometric 2 factor authentication, and video monitoring is a key component in the building. Just as importantly, the facility is organized to simplify maintenance, streamline support, and ensure long‑term operational resilience.
